Labor Member for Parramatta, Andrew Charlton, today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will contribute $2 million towards the construction of a Youth and Community Centre at St Mary’s the Nativity Orthodox Church in
Mays Hill.
This election commitment will help build a new youth and community centre that will provide a range of programs focused on education, mental health and social outreach as well as community events – creating a hub for engagement and development.
Labor has a strong record of backing local community infrastructure across Parramatta – from grassroots sporting clubs to multicultural centres and places of faith – helping to strengthen community connection and belonging.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
Quotes attributable to Member for Parramatta, Dr Andrew Charlton MP:
“St Mary’s is an anchor for the people who practice their faith there. This new centre will give young people a safe and welcoming space to learn, grow, and connect.
“Only a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will deliver the funding to bring this vision to life.”
